redbeard
Well, I took that three hour trek across hill and dale I told everyone about in another post and the turkeys have took it to roost again. Haven't been there in 10 years and the ol' heart got to thumpin' pretty hard humpin' those hills. But once I got there it looked as if every oak leave was turned over. Got busted by at least seven turks as I made my way. Found a way via the top of the ridge coming back. Once the leaves get on, it'll be some fine huntin', hopefully. Rhino
Re: Honey hole still has birds Sounds like it will be some fine hunting and an opportunity to re-live some memories of the early days. Is it that isolated where you have to walk a long way cross country to get to it?
redbeard
Re: Honey hole still has birds As the crow flys, it's not that far, but as the fat man walks, it's quite a ways, up and down thru mountain laurel. Bad thing about it, there is a fine road that leads right to it, but it runs over private property and permission has been denied. So it's by the chalk line for National Forest access. Only a tiny corner meets to public road. It'll be worth it though if I can get on top of one of those pink spurred mountain gobs.

It's suppose to get close to 70 degrees this week so it won't be long before it starts to green up! Best of luck!
