fly
I have a couple nice bucks on camera this year. The 14 pointer is 3.5 which means "IF" I can let him go another year he might make B&C. Neighbors will not give him a pass and I suspect he will be right at 150 this year.
hoosierhunter
Frank, that’s a darn good 3.5 year old. I feel your pain on neighbors killing them, had very similar 3.5 year old get whacked by my neighbors 5 years ago. He went 153 and change with no mass and 21 inch beams. Even though it’s tough to pass, that’s a deer who could absolutely blow up next year. My personal rule is that anything under 4 gets passed unless he will become my biggest buck. definitely exciting to see!
fly
I hear ya Patrick. I'd prefer to see the bottom deer first and then it would be easier to pass.
Strut10
Couple of real solid deer right there !!! Know what you mean about being hesitant to pass on a deer like that 14. Our property harbors some decent bucks. But it doesn't HOLD them. The best deer I had last year got shot a mile away on the gun opener. Whadda ya do with that ?? Best of luck with whatever happens this coming season. It is always nice to have a situation present an easy resolution..........like that 14 NOT being the first deer you see. LOL !!! wtnhunt
Good luck getting another year on that buck Frank. Have you gotten any more recent pics of him? I passed on a pretty nice 9 last year, and continued getting pics of him until the end of the season. I am pretty sure he made it through, but no telling of he will be back around here. I just got a couple cameras out two weeks ago. Had a young 9 possibly will be a 10, that could be special next year. That was the only buck I got on either camera, got several pics of him over a couple days. We have our velvet hunt next weekend, I will swap cards and see if we have anything else around. fly
I have William. A lot bigger than I predicted. This 3.5 year old will score 160 this year. Makes the decision more difficult, but I hope he still gets a pass from me this year. Next year he may the biggest deer I ever shot at 175+, this year he would be # 2 or #3, but not number one, as my biggest went 172.
Ravin R10 man
Good Luck Frank. At least somebody got decent bucks to hunt.
fly
I'm hopeful some 4.5 or older bucks show up. Only have the one 8 point with a unicorn point that I judge to be mature.
