AJ
I have both the Win 70 Classic and the Savage 110. Both are good guns. With a little work both are great shooters.
Guest Colorado Bob
Re: Made My Choice!!!!!!!! Most factory triggers need adjusting. Other than that---all mine are the way they came from the factory. Get the rifle that fits you the best---throw them both up to your shoulder----see which one feels the best----also take your hunting jacket when you do it. They are about equal IMO. AJ
Re: Made My Choice!!!!!!!! [ QUOTE ] with a little work - ??? work as in ?? [/ QUOTE ] Trigger tweak and a good bedding job. But thats the same no matter who makes the rifle (production bolt gun).
too_pointer
Re: Made My Choice!!!!!!!! It depends on what you expect out of your rifle. I'm pretty happy on all my rifles the way they came. A 2" group or less is fine for me at 100 yards. I think AJ is saying that with some work you can shrink that group quite abit. A trigger job would be nice as the factory setting are usually pretty rough . too_pointer

JimT
Re: Made My Choice!!!!!!!! After all that your going to get a W or an S? lol... j/k. Both are fine rifles for sure. Either will serve you well. I personally would buy the Savage, just because of the trigger and I like their safety better. Get saving buddy! The season will be here sooner than you think. Strut_Buster
Re: Made My Choice!!!!!!!! Ck. I have a Super shadow in 300 WSM. Its a very nice gun. But, the factory trigger pull on my gun is 8 lbs. Thats gotta be changed. Before you even shoot a Model 70 you better get that checked. I can get 1.5 inch groups with mine with alot of concentration. I just wanna know how it shoots with a 2-3 lb pull. Other than that the Model 70 is a great shooting rifle.
