Norm Sauceman
I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with the "Accelerator" Ammo. I was thinking about getting some for the son's 30-06 and see what it was like... It says a 30-06 Accelerator shoots a .243 bullet with a sabot from a 30-06 shell...was wondering if it was any good? JimT
Re: Anyone? They are not very accurate. If your looking for something with a little less kick, I would probably try the reduced recoil loads.
AJ
Re: Anyone? I have tried them in a Rem 760, Rem 742, custom FN Mauser 98, H&R Ultra Comp, and a Rem 700 BDL. The best grouping I got was 6" groups at 100 yards. Most of the groups were about 8" for 3 shots. So I have yet to find a gun that will shoot them even somewhat accurately. I have tried handloads with sabots and 55 gr bullets with just about the same results. They look cool for the speed, but the speed does no good if you can't hit the target. Guest lilcrackshot
Re: Anyone? I've seen them and read an article and they probably need some special type of rifling to stabalize them so don't get those.
