If you do choose a broadhead that uses rubberbands to keep the blades closed during flight....make sure you read the instructions on the package. I used the 100g SideWinders for years but went to 125g head that has an all steel ferrel and thicker blades. Since then the SideWinders started to use the thicker blades too.. Both are great. Not to jump in and interrupt, but the 100 grain will be fine as plenty of moose, elk, bear, etc are taken with this weight of head and ligther every year. I hunted with them for one year and shot a big doe from almost straight above (she was 7 yards from the base of my tree and I was 25 feet up) and I only got 10 inches of penetration. This was with a 100 grain Gator, a 30 inch XX75, pulling 65 lbs. The Gators have sat in the box for 6 or 8 years now because of that experience. Some states see this as being a barbed head and illegal. Most mech heads have blades that swing open or side back and open but can be slid forward or swing back closed and not considered barbed.
