popgun
I have never yet hunted turkey. I can't seem to get fired up about it. The extra equip, learning to call, the chiggers, mosquito's and snakes. Perhaps if I went, even one time, I would be hooked, but... Here in AR. we have a bag limit of one, that's (1) turkey. I think it is 1 for spring season and 1 for fall, but only 1. Maybe if the bag limit were higher I could get fired up with the thought of turkey in the freezer. If you get one here on opening day you are finished. What is the bag limit where you hunt turkey? .....popgun
snapper
Re: What\'s your bag limit? 1 spring bird (with your lic.) and now I guess you can buy an extra tag for $20 to kill another spring gobbler. Your lic. also allows for 1 either sex bird in the fall in PA.
dogdoc
Re: What\'s your bag limit? popgun---the first time you hear that aggressive gobble and see a big tom heading your way gobbling and strutting--I promise you--you will be hooked. I live in a 1 tom county but the state limit is 2 birds. So I can go to a different county and kill another bird. In the fall it is 1 bird--either sex---but in the counties I hunt I can only harvest a turkey with a bow. todd

VermontHunter
Re: What\'s your bag limit? Here in Vermont we are allowed 2 spring birds and 1 Fall bird..... But for the fall bird I would have to travel to the Southern part of the state....YIKES with these gas prices this may not happen, but I would love to go south and do a fall hunt with vtbowhunter, I think it would be a blast and get the chance to meet another great forum member.. Guest BRDNSPR
Re: What\'s your bag limit? Give it try. I don't think turkey hunting is about putting meat in the freezer for anybody. It is the hunt whether your limit is 1 or 6. Enjoy your time out there and the excitement with calling in a gobbler. It is hard to beat ! Since I don't have a fall season in the county I live, I get to take all 5 gobblers in the spring!

popgun
Re: What\'s your bag limit? Thanks for the replies. I guess I got the answer that I was looking for. It appears that no one has a very big bag limit. So you hunt turkey for the "hunt", and not especially for the number of birds. Thanks. .....popgun

Guest Rod
Re: What\'s your bag limit? For Illinois, the limit in the spring is 1 bearded bird per permit, max. of 3 permits. It's very difficult to draw that many permits though, in most counties. In the fall, we can get a max. of 2 permits. All turkeys are legal in that season. Rhino
Re: What\'s your bag limit? We get 3 mature gobblers here popgun. I'm a little south of you and chiggers aren't a problem here until around the middle May. Mosquito's and snakes.....well you learn to prepare for and deal with them.
