Need a or some volunteers

Recommended Posts

I have a fellow in Georgia who has had a long battle with a heart condition. I need some help in granting him his wish. He wants to get a bow so he can deer hunt. We need everything. Bow, sights, release, rest, arrows, broadheads and practice tips and whatever else we can bless him with. Nothing fancy, of course, these folks never ask for anything fancy, they just want to go. If you have a full set-up you would like to donate or sell for a "cheap" price, let me know. You can either help with a little or a lot, in my book, they are the same. If you feel like adopting this man for yourself, let me know and I will turn over his contact information to you and you can handle it. The DHNA will take care of any costs you can not.

This is why I am here at these boards, to let folks like you get involved to help. I hardly ever beg, but I sure ask a lot of you folks in here. This should be a simple thing and not too hard to acomplish. Email me or just post to this thread if you have pieces or parts and what you want to do.

Re: Need a or some volunteers

How much can this guy pull back Norm? Dartonman sold me a bow a few years back that is just sitting here taking up space. I believe it's minimum pull is 60 pounds. Can he handle that much pull in his condition?

If I donate the bow, can you give me a receipt so I can write it off at the end of the year?

Let me know.

Tom

Re: Need a or some volunteers

What about arrows?? I have some Gold Tip xt 3555 that are too short for me. I think they're 27 1/2"?????? They would be a LITTLE underspined, but faster than the 5575 out of his bow. I shot them at 60 lbs. with no problems! They have been laying around and I can't sell them, so might as well donate if they will work. I can refletch them too. Can't do much being a college student, but I'll do as much as I can!! Let me know about the length!!

Re: Need a or some volunteers

I think they would be a bit short for this bow. Unless someone has an old overdraw that they would donate for it.

Anyone out there in the forums that has an old overdraw that they would be willing to donate to the cause?? Step up if you do, and we could set this man up good.

Thanks

Re: Need a or some volunteers

I have a set of carbon arrows that would be the right spine for that draw weight but they are only 28" long. If 28" is enough then send me a PM with the info on where to send them. They are still in the box and waiting for someone to give them some love. I hope they'll work. Let me know.

Re: Need a or some volunteers

Just got off the phone. He has a 28" draw.

If you want to send something to him...PLEASE post it here so he does not get a bunch of one thing...

His name is Michael Betts

Bulldawg has already sent him a bow. It has not arrived yet, but should very soon. Thanks All!!

Re: Need a or some volunteers

This can be a tough call on the 28" arrows. I have a 30" draw length, and screwed up one year, and bought some new 30" shafts. I got a little leary when pulling them back, because the broadhead was a little close to my knuckles. But I did hunt with them, and I took a deer with the set-up, even though I am more comfortable with a 31" arrow. In my personal opinion, I think the 28" shafts would work out.
