preacherman
My first bow was a Browning Mirage, it shot good and actually killed some deer with it. But if I had to choose one to start off with.......it would probably be something that is made by the Fred Bear company. Buckmasters series bows have some good looking bows out........and don't shoot me, but Mossy Oak has an awesome bow called the "Obsession"......it is very quiet and forgiving and decently fast for the little set-up that it is. Hope this helps.
Chrud
Re: Buying a bow...? I would look at a lower-end Hoyt. I wouldn't call the UltraMag a low-end bow, but it is less expensive than the XTEC or ViperTec. It is made with a different material and that is the reason. Also, Hoyt owns another bow company called Reflex. They are great bows at a great price. Most of them use old Hoyt models as their basic design. archerjg
Re: Buying a bow...? Pretty much all of the companies make good starter bows. Find a good pro shop and shoot as many bows as you can. Archerjg
