I'm just curious as to everybody's choice in fly gear and why?

I primarily use a 9ft 8wt fighting butt SA rod with a Concept 2 reel. I keep it spooled with floating line but also like intermediate. I mostly fish buggers in stillwater from a tube for trout ranging from 2-5+ pounds and the 8wt rod helps with those bigger fish.

I would like to do some bass fishing this year and want to know if this is a good combo for fishing poppers for 1-7 pound largemouth.

Thanks

Andy

You have a greta bass set up right there, pick up a sicking line for getting down on humps and you've got it all.

I have way to many set-ups to metion them all but the three i pick up the most:

Bass: TFO 8weight, Orvis Mid-arbor, floating and full sinking line.

Saltwater: Orvis T3 nine weight, orvis Bat. Large Arbor.

Steelhead: Custom made 10' 6", 6weight. Ross Evolution Reel.

trout:Orvis T3, 4weight and another Orvis Mid-Arbor.
