Strut10
Re: who uses I use a red-dot scope on my turkey gun. If by "need" you mean "do I have to have it??" No. But hitting a small target with a tight-shooting shotgun can become quite a challenge at close range. Trying to guess at where to hold with a crooked-shooting shotgun can be a P.I.A. as well. Covehnter
Re: who uses I tried it, didnt like it, chose to go back to adjustable fiber optics. . . . so i'd have the option of sighting the gun in like a rifle to be confident from 2yds to 50 yds. Rhino
Re: who uses Sort of. I put a Bushnell Holosight on my turkey gun shortly after they came out with them. Do I have to have it? No...but my kill percentage for shots taken sure improved so I choose to hunt with it for that reason.
huntn4bucks
Re: who uses Nope, I don't use a scope on my shotgun for turkey hunting...I kind of like looking down the barrel at my target!
kooter
Re: who uses i just purchased one this week, will try it out this season. my fiber optic sights on my gun wouldn't let me adjust them far enough to feel confident.
dodge4x4
Re: who uses i used a red dot scope for lasst year, amd hated it. i never will again. i had my gun resting down a little bit and we'd been workin this one gobbler for about an hour, and all of a sudden he popped up over the hill. i raised up to shoot him, but couldnt gewt him in the scope quick enough. if i hadn't had the scope, i oculd of just aimed and BAM! dinner. lol. Guest 257Roberts
Re: who uses I don't think you need one but it wouldn't hurt. I don't have one cuz i like to keep things simple. A scope adds wieght to the gun and the possiblity of knocking the scope off durring those long dark walks in the woods. I would rather take that 150 bucks for a scope and buy me new camo, decoy, or calls.
