Guest lilcrackshot
I am thinking of getting a BSA Scope and was wondering what you guys think about them. Do they gather enough light? Are they reliable and stuff like that.

tedicast
Re: BSA Scopes I myself, have never owned nor have I shot a rifle with a BSA scope. My opinion on scopes id you get what you pay for. A low $$$ scope will probably be fine on a rimfire, or a low recoil centerfire, but as you get into heavier recoil guns, I would suggest saving your money, and buying the best scope you possibly can. It isn't worth ruining a hunt, or worse yet injuring, and not recovering an animal due to a fogged scope, or a scope that shifted its point of imapct. Just my 2 cents. Guest Rod
Re: BSA Scopes I've had a BSA scope on my muzzleloader the last 3 years and it's done just fine. No problems.

I've noticed he had a different brand this past season, on his rifle. He said the BSA (for some reason) wouldn't hold "Zero". BSA's are made in China, so that should tell you enough about the quality issue.
too_pointer
Re: BSA Scopes BSA's are a bottom line scope. You see them at Wal-Mart and K-Mart for pretty cheap prices. You can very well get one that will work for you on a certain gun. I doubt they have much of a warrenty, but I might be wrong. The optics are not the quality of Nikons, Leupuld, ect. This has already been stated, you get pretty much what you pay for when it comes to optics. I would try to look through and compare them to other brands before I bought one. too_pointer

robk
Re: BSA Scopes i have a bsa 4x16x50 ao for my 17hmr and would put the same one on my 308 or my black powder. they are a good scvope and have been used in some sniper groups as well as for hunting of animals. they are excellent scopes for hte money but you need the larger the object inthe 50 mm ot make it light reflected enough for low light shooting rob k ncstar is another company who makes a nice scope as well rob k
spyderpancake
Re: BSA Scopes like Rob said, the BSA Sweet 17(I presume that's what you have) is a decent scope for the money. What are you gonna use it for and how much can you spend?
