deerhunter10
I am 14 years old and my turkey season comes in next weekend. I was wondering if I should use a 20 ga. or a 12 ga.? Thanks.

PAbowhunter4life
Re: Which gun? I agree with Bruce. Pattern both and which ever one shoots the best, I'd use. However, make sure you are comfortable with the gun. If you shoot the 12 ga. and it packs too much of a punch for you, don't be afraid to use the 20 ga. . You don't have to be macho and use the 12 ga. to hunt turkey, you just have to be a good shot with the weapon you choose. In all honesty, I shoot a 12 ga. 835 for turkey when I decide to use a gun instead of a bow, but I am going to look for a nice 20 ga. turkey gun. With all the advancements in shells and chokes these days a 20 ga is just as lethal as a 12 ga out to 50 yards, but it only kicks half as much lol. Good luck with whatever you decide!
