Palssonater Posted March 24, 2005 Report Share Posted March 24, 2005 Well a couple of days ago I decided that if there was no one at the gas station (one diesel pump)that I would just deek in and fill up my car. I drive a little Jetta. I pull up, grab the handle, stick it in the tank and flip the switch for the pump. Nothing..... As I am doing this a large 3/4ton truck pulls up on the other side of the diesel pump. I try the switch one more time and still nothing. He is just stepping out of his truck and I say, "The Pump is locked, I'll go get it unlocked". So I leave the handle in my tank, walk inside and inform the cashier. So he flips the switch and says everything is Ok. I return to my car to find that the handle has been removed from my tank, and placed in the 3/4ton's tank, and the man is happily pumping along. Took the handle right out of my Tank..... Talk about angry! I informed him that I had not even pumped my fuel, and he gave me the "kid who just cut in line at McDonalds 'shrug'". Now I am breathing fire and informed him to stop where he is and shut the pump off. He stopped at 20 bucks and went in to pay. Small victory for me. Didn't raise my voice or anything. I tell ya, some people these days... no patience and no respect, you would THINK that he would take into consideration that a Jetta takes a little less time to fill than a 3/4 ton truck... like the others said, they think that their time is worth so much more than yours..... [/ QUOTE ] That is exactly what I was thinking after. My car would have taken 5mins to fill as opposed to his 145litre tank. It was good that he stopped at 20 bucks and buggered off though.
