JimT
I was talking to a buddy the other night about them. I told him to get one on his bow. He said he did not want to because if something goes wrong and he misses the animal he wants easy access to his arrows. I have never heard anyone mention this, and thought it was a pretty good justifacation to keep thier arrows on bow. Anyone have a thought on this? I was going to get one until we discussed this potentially huge problem. Now I am not so sure.
mainebuck
Re: Detachable Quivers... When I detach my alpine softloc I usually hang it on a screw in hook I hang my backpack from. It's right there on the tree beside me. I missed one two years ago and it went back to feeding which allowed me to grab another arrow out of the quiver without spooking it. I do at times keep the quiver on the bow when I hunt as well. I think it's nice to have the option of taking it off. You can always leave a detachable one on, but you can't take a non-detachable one off.

With 2 arrow holders it works for both fixed blade and mechanical broadheads.
Rayzorp
Re: Detachable Quivers... I just got one with my bowtech,, when I get to my spot, I hang it on tree next to me. If your friend prefers, he can leave it attached to bow,, just being able to remove when you please is cool..
tedicast
Re: Detachable Quivers... I use an Alpinr Soft-lok, and as soon as I get in my tree, the quiver comes off, and is hung from a hook to my right, that is in the same position in every one of my stands. The quiver is the only thing this hook gets used for.
MadHuntinPastor
Re: Detachable Quivers... Take mine off and stuff it in my backpack. I always shoot without it.
tedicast
Re: Detachable Quivers... [ QUOTE ] i use a alpine soft lock 2 peice and i love it so far the only thing i dont like is the fact that its a pain to take off, jmo [/ QUOTE ] Whats so hard about getting an alpine soft-lok quiver off? No nuts or knobs to unscrew. It is by far the best design quiver mount out there in my opinion.takes about 2 seconds and to remove the quiver. magnatecsteve
Re: Detachable Quivers... I always detatch my quiver when on stand too. I'm used to the way the bow feels without it on while shooting, so I want that same feel when I'm taking a shot at game. I tried shooting with it on but the extra weight on one side and the balance is what I didn't like. on release the bow tends to cant with an open hand grip. I wanted to take it off, so I bought the Lynx 4 from Bohning. Now I can take it off when ever I want to! Plus its a little lighter too!
