Some good camouflage

Here's a picture a guy from Georgia posted on another board. He was scouting for turkeys and ran across this copperhead. I wonder if anyone has ever tried to create a camoflauge pattern based on this. (No offense Realtree Inc., yours is still the best in production grin.gif)

Re: Some good camouflage

Now why in the world would you put a pic of a copperhead on here and not put a disclaimer at the beginning????? Do you realize just how bad you have scared me?

yes, copperheads blend in with leaves quite well, but when frightened, they give off the awfullest odor also.

You got the crappie bug too, huh?

After eating the ones we caught the other day, I'm ready to catch some more. Maybe I'll catch one bigger than yours. wink.gif Matter of fact, I think I'll go after work today! grin.gif

Yep, they blend in very well, and often will even get under leaves making it impossible to see them. They will however sometimes shake their tale as a rattlesnake does when they are approached which if they are in dry leaves will make a kind of a rattling sound.

That odor is also emitted when they get run over and squished or flattened with a shovel too.
