jjones
Re: Know How to Install A CD Player? i would go buy a wiring harness that will plug right into your factory plug. it is the easiest way to do it it will also come with a wiring diagram. that and a dash kit to make it properly. VtBowhunter
Re: Know How to Install A CD Player? You need to take the dash brackets off then see what kind of locking unit is holding the stereo in. Once you do that let me know and I can help you more from there. I used to own my own car stereo installation business.
wtnhunt
Re: Know How to Install A CD Player? Really very simple to install car stereos. You might go to pioneers site and ask for a manual if you dont already have one. The dash on your silverado will probably not take the stereo in the spot by the AC controls. Trying to picture my 92. I am pretty sure the spot where a tape player goes over in the middle of the dash is where the unit will likely have to go in which you will have to pull the dash back enough to get to mounting screws to remove the existing tape player if there is one. Like I said, I dont think it will go in the slot where the factory radio is. That is referred to as a half din chassis I think. The slot in the middle of the dash where a factory tapeplayer on a 92 model goes will however hold that cd player if I am not mistaken.
