AJ
Re: 3/4\" groups!!! Thats a decent gun. How many shots in the group? How many groups? One group, it can be luck. Average of 5 different 5 shot groups will tell what the gun can do. The .223 Rem is fully capable of being a great shooter. My custom AR15 will shoot 3/8" groups (average) at 100 yards. The USMC uses modified M16 rifles (.223 Rem) to shoot High Power Service Rifle competitions. Granted they are using 80 gr bullets in custom build guns, but they are shooting open sights at 1000 yards with the 223. I have had good success with the 223 on varmints to 500 yards. It is my preferred varmint cartridge.

[ QUOTE ] Granted they are using 80 gr bullets in custom build guns, but they are shooting open sights at 1000 yards with the 223. [/ QUOTE ] WOW!.............Now that is somethning . I probably would not even be able to focus on the target with open sights at that distance let alone hit it LOL My most accurate rifle is a Remington 700 VLS in 22-250. It has a heavy barrel, and wears a fixed 12x leupold. It is a 1/2"-3/4" 5 shot group gun.......@100 yards. But I have shot quite a few 1.5-2" groups at 300 yards with it at my club. Reloader
Re: 3/4\" groups!!! To Quote Craig Bodington..."3 shot groups are just as valid as 5 shot groups, you just have to shoot more of them" Either way that is awesome shooting for 200 yards. Im happy to average 3/4 inch at 100 yards from my 30-06...
johnf
Re: 3/4\" groups!!! That's pretty impressive. I don't think I could see well enough to do that even if my gun could.
