Guest gfourhunter
Re: Turkey Field & Stream Article ?? it all depends on if the toms are hot breeding or not. if it early in breeding they are hot like a big buck in rut. they forget about their safty with only one thing on there mind. if it is late in seasion i dont use decoys. most of the hunt in that time of the seasion is doing what i call ( the cherkee sneak) lots of time crawling within gun range of a tom. buckbuster11
Re: Turkey Field & Stream Article ?? I still like my decoys. I dont think turkeys can tell the difference between a real and a fake bird...I really dont. I've had plenty of birds walk right up to mine. At times a male decoy might scare off a subordinate bird, or a hen decoy may cause a gobbler to hang up. But, it all depends on the bird and the situation. Personally, I still think decoys are well worth it.
