Which Bow?

Re: Which Bow?

In all honesty the Parker is fine, they are a good quality bow and plenty of people use them and rave over them. I shoot a Mathews SQ2, I have friends that shoot PSE's while others shoot Hoyt lol.

The point I am trying to make is that there are so many good companies around today that make quality affordable bows, you really shouldn't have a problem finding a bow for you. Bows today give you A LOT more bang for the buck than in years past.

Just make sure to test some out, hopefully you can shoot them before buying. This way you can see if the bow feels right, is it smooth, quiet, how's the draw cycle? Just pick a good quality bow, don;t worry about what others shoot, worry about what fits you and what you like, then go enjoy the new bow bud.

Re: Which Bow?

since you are 14 im willing to bet that you wont find a bow that you wont outgrow... plus its a common fact that most archers buy a new bow about every 3 years...

with that in mind then you need to find a bow that is adjustable for you until your say 18 or so...then you can get another one to fit you..

the main thing i can tell you is make sure that the draw length and draw weight fit you.. to many young guys try to find a bow that will fit them and then they end up with a bow that is close but usually to heavy a draw weight... and to long in draw length... the person selling the bow says something like oh you will grow into it.. wrong ...

you need one that fits you properly ...

with that said many of the top companies do make bows that are highly adjustable in draw length and draw weight... Hoyt , Mathews , PSE... but you might think about a Martin ..

we sell them at our shop and they are adjustable in draw like from 24 to 30 inches and usually easy to adjust for draw weight also...

plus they are a lot cheaper than Hoyt and Mathews but just as good....

Bingo. You probably won't stop growing until about 17 or 18, maybe even later. I would suggest something with a lot of draw length adjustment to start with.
