Strut10 Posted March 26, 2005 Report Share Posted March 26, 2005 You may want to go with a #5 or #6 shotshell. #4 shot may work fine for you. But many times the low number of pellets in the shell will produce sparse patterns past about 30 yards. Don't worry about your fixed choke. I have my grandfathers Iver Johnson Champion single barrel. It is choked on the light side of full. It will throw a turkey-killing pattern of #5's or #6's to 35 yards, easily. It shoots to the point of aim, so the single front bead is adequate.
