I drove around the local area looking for field birds and found one flock of jakes. When I got back to the house, I spotted a dark form at the edge of the field. ......a nice tom! He strutted a bit and I could here some purring. I never saw another turkey, but I'm guessing there may have been a hen or two in the woods. On another note, my sister and brother-in-law just came back yesterday from Tennessee. They stayed somewhere in the Smokey Mountains, and they had quite a few pics of some very nice Toms.
