AJ
The first thing to look at is the point of impact (POI). Is your POI centered on your point of aim (POA)? If not, the choke tube or the barrel may be bad. A POI that shoots above the POA is acceptable, and sometimes desirable. How wel the pattern is depends on the purpose. If you are patterning for wingshooting you want an evenly dispersed arrangement of pellets in a 25"-30" circle at whatever distance you plan to shoot your targets. You don't want gaps in the patterns. If you are patterning for turkeys you want a very dense inner core of a 10" circle. You can use a turkey target to show how your pattern will fall on the head/neck area of a turkey.
