SRTMO
Re: mechanical broadhead flight The widest mechanical I am aware of it the Wasp SST Selectable with an 1 3/4" cut. Who even makes a 2" cut mecahnical? I think the blades hanging loose would make to much noise. Test them out to see if open baldes effect the accuracy. dogdoc
Re: mechanical broadhead flight vortex makes some 2 inch+ heads also. I was watching a hunting show--the guy was hunting pronghorn with a bow. He was shooting mechanicals and the head opened in flight---that arrow looked like a rocket out of control--so I would say you could get a pretty erratic flight. todd
dogdoc
Re: mechanical broadhead flight i have heard with the shoot thru mesh you want the type that uses rubber bands or rubber O washer--and sometimes you need two bands. todd
SRTMO
Re: mechanical broadhead flight If a mechanical opened prematurely during flight and all the blades didn't open, I can see how it would be a wild ride.
billkay
Re: mechanical broadhead flight My blind came with very clear directions that the "Shoot Through" netting should not be used with either mech broadheads or muzzleloaders. The latter due to the risk of the mesh catching fire.
robk
Re: mechanical broadhead flight i've shot rocket steelheads thru mesh as well as the vortex broadheads with absolutely no problems what so ever and would do it any time rob k
robk
Re: mechanical broadhead flight the hammeheadsi would suggest if you decide to try them use an extra O ring and see if that will do the trick. the angle of the blades on the hammerhead is pretty obvious and will probably catch and open with one Oring but if you try and it works with two then go form there. if your hunting deer i would suggest you try the steelheads and see what you think about them i know the guys at double bull shoot them rob k
