VermontHunter
CONGRATS on the new Mathews Switchback, although the PSE is a great bow too, as for carbon VS. Aluminum this is a matter of preference IMO, I have taken deer with carbon with absolutely no problems at all, I myself don't see it as hitting power but more shot placement, both will kill it's just what you yourself feel more comfortable with using... GLAD you are back into Hunting and the great outdoors, and welcome to the Forums it's great having Ya here....

longislandhunter
Re: Carbon vs aluminum for hunting I don't know if the carbon arrows I shoot now actually hit any harder than the aluminum arrows I used to use,,,, but I do know that my accuracy has increased tremendously and I know that the carbons fly much faster. I've gotten great penetration on every deer I've harvested with the carbons and I've actually saved quite a bit of money by not having to replace arrows as often due to the toughness of the carbons. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Carbon vs aluminum for hunting I use Easton C2 Carbons and have had great success with them. If in doubt on what to shoot go to Easton's website and check out there forum and what arrows they have to offer. Todays aluminum arrows are getting better and better, I just happen to like carbon but would give aluminum a chance. Ask your local pro shop for ideas as well as guys on here. Good luck!! deerhunter10
Re: Carbon vs aluminum for hunting I have shot carbon and aliminum and my choice would be carbon. I have grouped better since i have shot carbon arrows.
maddhunter
Re: Carbon vs aluminum for hunting The best thing I like about carbons is there either strait or broken. I missed the buck of my lifetime do to a bent aluminum arrow and haven't shot any since. And also gained accuracy with the switch.
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Carbon vs aluminum for hunting Exactly what maddhunter said. They are either straight or broken. Each one has their pros and cons. I shoot carbon now but used to shoot aluminum
