MrWiggely
I was out driving around this am, and saw a flock of about 30 birds in a field. Well 5 nice toms atleast 2 years old were there srutting around and 1 big ole fella mounted a hen and let her have it. Right there in the foot deep snow. A little early I suspect. Either the eggs will be no good, or maybe they were just warming up. Who knows. WIgs
13littleones
Re: CRAZY If the eggs dont freeze they should be ok...the eggs can sit there for 10 days or so without her care....she must find the gobbler once a day to fertilize each egg that she lays..... the incubating process does not start until she sits on the eggs day in and day out......this way the little polts are all born within a couple of hours of eachother 26 days later........once she starts incubating, she can not stop incubating or the eggs will die.... MrWiggely
Re: CRAZY I realize all that, tough to figure out how they will keep from freezing when our temps are in the teens every knight, and half the day. Wigs
