lil hunter
No way, i would sell replicas, but never the real thing. I'll probably never shoot a world record animal, but theres no way in the world I'd sell it.

It amazes me when I hear of people selling off their world record mounts and what not. To me that symbolizes that you aren't a hunter, you're just in it for the antlers and the money. Even if I was falling on extremely hard times, that mount would be there to see me through them.

Rhino
Re: Would you ever sell.... Absolutely not. That is one of those things you can't put a price on. Like lil said, I'd sell replicas but not the real McCoy.

NYBUCK
Re: Would you ever sell.... Not on your life. I don't care how bad I needed the money, selling your mounts is like selling your grandfathers watch. UNTHINKABLE !!!!
Orion_70
Re: Would you ever sell.... Sell it, Nope.. Lease it for the right amount of cash, Absolutely!! As long as it has my name on it when showed, where it was killed, etc.. Lots of people out there who love to see those big racks and that's what gets a lot of younger hunters interested.. Now just to kill me a world record
JoshM
Re: Would you ever sell.... HECK NO!....i would never sell any of my mounts even if it was just a dinky 2 pointer. When ever i look ar one of my mounts it makes me feel good inside....i would sell a mount if it was worth 10000000000000000000000 dollars... buckbuster11
Re: Would you ever sell.... Negative. But, I'd be more then happy to make a replica and sell it to Cabelas for a couple hundred grand.
Tominator
Re: Would you ever sell.... Hard to say. It is, afterall, a material possession as is money, and that's not what life is about.
huntn4bucks
Re: Would you ever sell.... As long as my family was not in dire need of food, clothing, shelter, etc., I would NEVER sell one of my mounts. If it came between my family's needs and my mount, I would have to say that the mount would have to go. Let's just hope it never gets to that. horst
Re: Would you ever sell.... For the right price Id sell it in a heartbeat.Theyre just antlers after all.I could do a lotta things for my family with enough money, pat the house off, get the wife a different vehichle, set some money aside for the kids to goto college. As long as I got pictures and memories Id have no problem selling a set of antlers. Squirrelhunter91
Re: Would you ever sell.... No! Most definetly not. I mean think about it. You aren't gonna be able to hunt forever and when you get old and need someone to take care of you, the mounts are all you have and memories. camelNS
Re: Would you ever sell.... I can say no now but if all those zeros were being offered it could change my mind.I would much rather sell a replica instead of the real one but as long as I were to get a replica and a real nice chunk of cash I could get over it. dogdoc
Re: Would you ever sell.... yep---Let's say you sell it to Cabela's for 100,000 bucks--plus a certain percentage of income generated from shows. The mount will be taken all over the country to shows---that way thousands of people get to enjoy your mount. You retain rights to t-shirt sales, sticker sales, and other endorsements. Have the buyer make you a couple replica's---then you don't have to worry about security of the original mount---plus the extra money in the bank. Yep--I wouldn't have a problem selling it if the conditions were right. todd
PAhardwoods
Re: Would you ever sell.... I think it would depend on what record animal i took. I shot the next Typical world record whitetail. I would sell it in a heartbeat I'm not the kind of person that would like random people knockin on my door everyday to see the mount or worry about somebody stealing it plus you know how many hunting trips you could go on with that money.....haha Cody
