jerdanmagic
Well, I just got back from a little weekend trip down on Lake Istokpoga in Florida. On Friday the weather was pretty bad and the fishing was really, really slow. Our boat (me and my buddy) only landed 4 bass, and one mud fish. The biggest bass was just under 5 lbs. But we got into them thick on Saturday. We boated 35 fish in just half a day, with 24 of them over 4 lbs. I caught 3 fish over 7 lbs within about an hour or so. It was awesome. But the big fish award went to another friend of ours on a different boat. This guy has been fishing like 4 times in his life, and he managed to boat a 9 pound 11 ouncer!!!! It was quite a fish, and a heck of a trip!

jerdanmagic
Re: Bassin\' in Florida Its in Lorida, Florida (pronounced: La-raida by the locals) central Florida about 45 miles north west of Okeechobee. we did a little artificial fishing but caught them mostly on wild shiners. some of the bigger fish were caught on some monster 3/4 pound shiners. It was my second time to go and fish that lake, and its a blast fishing with those shiners!!!! And yeah, they are spawning like crazy. Its so much fun to watch those females chase the shiners off their bed, then the shiners come right back and WHAM!!!!!
