texastrophies
Just heard it on the radio. Famed attorney Johnny Cochran has died, reports MSNBC. Cochran's most-noted case was his defense of O.J. Simpson when the former football star and actor was accused of murdering his wife. Simpson was found not guilty. Cochran had suffered from a brain tumor. He was 67 years old

Norm Sauceman
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead Like it or not, he did what he was paid to do and did a fine job for it. I would want someone like him, and I am sure ALL of you would too, if I were in need of a defense lawyer. He was an intelligent man who was brilliant at his job. God rest his soul. Bruce Schmeck
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead While I would not wish such a malady on anyone, I can't really say that I am too torn up to hear this news. Just another sleazy, despicable lawyer in my opinion. May God have mercy on his soul.

Heard something about that last night on the news while we were eating supper, did not really pay much attention to what they said though. AJ
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead Maybe his conscience caught up with him. The ending of the movie The Devil's Advocate jumped into my mind when I heard the news.

snapper
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead I come here and see threads about how "good the folks here are"..."great bunch of people"..."would share my campfire with"...blah blah blah Then someone passes away and most of you slam the man. How many of you actually knew him? You are all slamming him for a job he did and even at that, your slamming him for the one job you all know about. Just because you don't like someone's profession doesn't make them a bad person...some of these responses make me sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just plain igornant...glad I call some of you friends. Why say anything at all if its rude?
Ravin R10 man
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead He was a brilliant laywer indeed! However the whole OJ trail was a shame in my opionion, a guilty man got off. all I can say now is: If the Coffen fits, 6 foot under he gets. snapper
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead [ QUOTE ] a guilty man got off. [/ QUOTE ] So you were there? OJ was found "not" guilty in front of his peers...thats how the system works. He is a free man and did nothing wrong PERIOD. Is that Johnny Cochran's fault? Did you ever consider that OJ didn't do it and Johnny Cochran did a darn good job?

johnf
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead [ QUOTE ] $20 bucks says OJ is involved!!!!LOL!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] That's just cold. My comment "Oh" wasn't meant in disrespect, but that it didn't in any way affect me. Appathy is IMO responce is much more appropriate than insulting the dead or jokeing at thier expence. Tominator
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead Agree with Norm and Snapper. He did his job well, and some of you are pretty harsh. I'm sad to see anyone go through the cancer thing and lose.
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead [ QUOTE ] My comment "Oh" wasn't meant in disrespect [/ QUOTE ] My "OH" was meant for the purpose of "Oh, OK, rest in peace dude". I have a problem with fame and fortune. He is no different than any other guy out there who dies of cancer. Do they announce it on the news when someone in your family dies of cancer...my point exactly. He is famous because he got OJ off the hook...for those of you who don't think OJ was guilty....then you watched different news and coverage that I did. I think he got off because they didn't want more riots,JMHO. So therefore again, my "Oh" was meant for something like....OK, people die everyday of cancer. Do I think it is funny, nope. Do I feel for his family, yep. Do I think we should lower our flags and make a holiday out of it (wouldn't surprise me if they do), NOPE. horst
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead [ QUOTE ] Well, aint that a shame [/ QUOTE ] Dont know what exactly woulda been disrepectful about that comment.I didnt know the guy, I dont really even have an opinion of him, but at the same time I dont feel obligated to say nice things about him just cause hes dead. 10acboy
Re: Johnny Cochran is Dead Although OJ was found not guilty, doesn't he have to pay 30 million in wrongful death or something like that. Some of you honestly believe that OJ was 100% innocent??? Not to say that Johnny didn't do his job well but their are criminals walking around because of him. I heard a list of some of his clients: OJ, Snoop Dog and Michael Jackson. Well we know one of them is on trial now which may have been prevented if some scummy lawyer didn't find some some how. Did he do his job well - definitely. Would the world be better off if he wasn't a lawyer - probably. Just my .
