fenderhunt4
I'm trying to find a bug spray I used to have a few years ago. I can't remember what it's called. It was a tick/mosquito repellent that was in a yellow can with a green or black lid(?). Knight & Hale used to advertise it too. ANYBODY KNOW? kooter
Re: BUG SPRAY? i use one bought at walmart called permanone or something like that. You spray it on your clothes and it keeps the bugs off. it comes in a yellow can and blue lid
Leo
Re: BUG SPRAY? Permanone is poison and kills anything that lands on ya. It is like an invisible hand that swats everything and never misses. Don't get it on your skin!
WaCoyote
Re: BUG SPRAY? Is that stuff really that good? Bring on bears, Mt. lions, love sick moose, crazy mountain men and I'm ok. Put a tick on me and watch a grown man cry!! I guess I have a phobia but those things just turn my stomach.
WIwhitetailhunter
Re: BUG SPRAY? I've tried the Permanone stuff from Walmart and still have had to pick ticks off of me. Maybe it's just because I smell so good!

Spray you pants legs, shirt sleaves, backside of pants and jacket. All the places ticks usually make contact. I've only needed to pick a few since doing this. Other years I've had them all over. I also spray my cap with mosquito spray. They alway show up when you're working a bird. Borch

I use permanone also, it used to outlawed in Missouri a long time ago it works great on clothing but it is not for your skin !! I saw the thermacell ad. and thought it was a waste also, maybe I will try it for bowhunting early season now that I know it works.thanks
Leo
Re: BUG SPRAY? I use the Thermacell myself here as our deerhunting season opens in Aug. It does work quite well for flying bugs. Permanone is still the best way to go for ticks. I often use camo duct tape to seal my pant legs to my boots as well. The jury is still out for me as to whether or not the Thermacell spooks game. It may be they are new enough that any odor the deer picks up is not attributed with danger. One note of caution: Do not place the Thermacell in a ground blind with you. It is a fuel burning device and it can overwhelm you in an enclosed blind. Placing it just outside the blind on the ground works well. fenderhunt4
Re: BUG SPRAY? Thanks for the input. I was wondering about the ThermaCELL route...sounds like a good purchase! Are they battery operated, rechargeable or what?
