don't get to close to the roosting area at first light, but be out there to listen for the gobbling and also the hen talk. it's nice to know where both like to roost. after fly down , if you can keep track of them with out spooking them see were there going. most likely a field to feed. look for droppings ,feathers, scratchings, also dust bowls. if you can find a good comination of these signs you have a place to set up. oh yeah ,almost forgot ,don't try to call at this time save it for when you plan on hunting. good luck and hope this helped

turkeys!!!!!!!........just kidding, i try to look for roosting sites, try to look around the base of some mature trees for droppings.sometimes i will find some feathers from where they flew down from. i also try to find where they maybe strutting, if i have fields, i will try to find the easiest way from the roost to the field edge, look for V shape scratches at the edges, this has worked very well for me the last few years.....good luck !!!!

Re: What to look for Scouting?????

Other things are barriers like fences, creeks, etc. Otherwise tracks, droppings, dusting bowls, stut marks and someone mentioned turkeys. Also be listening for turkey sounds. Gobbles, hen talk, birds flying up in the evening.

Good Luck!
