Norm Sauceman
I was thinking about something. If I have a Remington 7400 in 30-06 is it not possible to just change out the barrel with a 7400 barrel in 270 and have two different guns? That should be all you would need to change out, right? I know you most likely could not do that with another caliber, but the 270/30-06 should interchange, right?
JimT
Re: Quick question Ya, but it is not as easy to do as it sounds. I would just buy another gun.

AJ
Re: Quick question On a bolt gun, this is very possible and do-able. On a pump or semi Remington, nope. The chance of it fitting are extremely slim. It will have to be fitted by a gunsmith. Remington uses a few different sizes (lengths) of bolts to "make things work" on these guns. I don't mean for short, medium, and standard length cartridges either. I mean to get the proper headspacing. This is one reason most gunsmiths won't rebarrel them.
