Jeramie
I have a great uncle in Kansas that is not doing so well. Mom went to Kansas because they don’t expect him to make it much longer. I have only met him a couple of times but he truly is a great guy. He knows that my brother and I both fish and hunt like mad. On my way out of town, yesterday, I saw mom as she was just getting back in town. I stopped to talk to her for a minute. She said, “Uncle Dee and the family sent you and Tim (my brother) something.” Uncle Dee was a taxidermist so I got pretty excited. I thought we may have ended up with a mount or something…. Wrong………. She pulled out three large gunny sacks with the manikins for Raccoon, Pheasant, Turkey, Fish, deer, rattle snake, armadillo, etc. I of course was on cloud 9. She then pulled out a trash bag full of books on “How to….” That made me even happier….. But I flipped when I saw the next bag was full of tools, chemicals, etc. I now have everything (short of critters) to make a mount. And actually they sent a dillo skin that has already been tanned and everything to mount it. It was a mount my uncle’s son started and then got side tracked. I’m thrilled! Tim and I are so excited. I can’t wait until fall now. We are going to mount the first thing we shoot!

HuntingInMaine
Re: Wow! That's great, but sorry you had to get the stuff under those circumstances. I have watched a couple shows about taxidermy and it seems like it would be a lot of fun (and save me a LOT of money! LOL)
