PAbowhunter4life
I recommend a mechanical broadhead with a large cutting diameter. I use Rocket Hammerhead 4L's. They have 4 blades and a 2" cutting diameter, all in all there is 4" worth of cutting surface. The arrow does not have to stay in the bird to make an easy recovery. I have seen birds with arrows in them take off just as easily as birds that the arrows passed through on. The key is to hit them where it counts. The vitals of a turkey is smaller than a baseball when you look at them. Using a mechanical head as I suggested gives you the added bonus of being able to miss your mark by a hair and still put a blade or 2 through the vitals. Even if you miss the vitals, the big mechanical head will put a hurtin on a turkey and he won't go too far. If you are confident that you can shoot a turkeys head that never stays still then by all means use the Gobbler Guilitines. Personally, I am going for the chest cavity which offers a lot bigger target.

maddhunter
Re: bowhunting turkeys I will be using the Gobbler Gilotines!!!!! You have a much bigger kill zone using these broad heads, and if you miss, you miss. Atleast you don't have a wounded bird running around. pointing_dogs_rule
Re: bowhunting turkeys Hi I agree with Pa bowhunter. I have used the Rocket Hammerheads and have bagged 2 toms. I am not GOOD enough to aim directly at the head. If I hit the head it is by accident. The body gives you a much larger target. If this is your first time bow hunting the birds your heart will be pumping very fast, making the shot more difficult. I have been very pleased with the broadheads. Good luck and let us know how your season goes. the dog
