Tominator
Re: Help Please...... What part of the country are you in? The only thing I can tell you is to keep searching. Look on fencelines, creek crossings, bedding areas and trails. Of all the sheds I've found, I'd say I find the majority of them on or near fencelines. sasksheds
Re: Help Please...... I was going to say fencelines, slough bottoms, buck brush, tall grass, medows, creeping cedar, trails.Does that cover "Everywhere?"Good luck.
whitetailtrax
Re: Help Please...... Two pieces of advice I give to folks who are struggling to find antlers. First of all, slow down your pace and secondly, use your binoculars!!!! I'd say at least half of the antlers I've ever found I saw first through my binos! I see guys all the time looking for sheds without binoculars and it baffles me. Slow down and use your glass! Good luck!
Guest Andrea
Re: Help Please...... Anyone ever used fence posts and corn to get sheds? You drive about 6 or 8 posts in the ground about 6 to 10 inches apart in a zig zag fashion. Then you pour the corn on the ground right down the middle. The bucks will knock around those fence posts while eating the corn and if his horns are loose......bingo! I know it's not as much fun as actually hunting for them, but if you get desperate you can always try that!
deershed
Re: Help Please...... Why not cover your entire area?Take your area and break it down in sections.Take a section at a time and do a grid pattern search of the whole section. Make passes back and forth depending on ground cover as to how far apart between passes. It might be a little time consuming, but if sheds are there you'll find them.It beats randomly walking around hoping you'll stumble onto one. Good luck at finding some!! 6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: Help Please...... im not a experienced shed hunter, this is my first year shed hunting, and last week i checked one entire fence line and within the first 15 minutes i found a non typical 5 sided shed right next to the fence, so keep most your focus on areas where they jump often, such as over big logs...good luck
