slaw
Are you suppose to dress your striker, sand it or anything?
Strut10
Re: Striker prep. [ QUOTE ] You can use fine sandpaper to "clean" the tip once in a while but only if the tip gets real shiney and begins to slip on the call...Take care not to change the shape of the tip!!! [/ QUOTE ] Ditto. I use my slate a lot. So I am "brushing up" the tip of the striker quite often............several times a day maybe. But it's always a light scuffing. Fullfan
Re: Striker prep. Don't use sandpaper, try a green scrub pad. The sandpaper in time will re-shape your striker. If you usa an alum call the striker will "loadup" and will need cleaned several times a day.
snapper
Re: Striker prep. I also use a "scrub pad" to dress my strikers. If you have to use sand paper...be gentle.
