bulldawg
Re: I need some ideas. You would do good, if you had a basic bow setup seminar for beginning archers. It would give the shop a chance to show some of the different products, and it would give the beginners a chance to see first hand how to set up your own bow. But, be careful that it just doesn't turn into a big sales pitch. You need to pass on good information that the new archers can copy down for future reference. need2hunt
Re: I need some ideas. One seminar would be a basic bow setup... this would include explaining the importance of a bow properly fitting a person and how you know if a bow fits you also the importance of not drawing more weight than you can handle, setting up the bow with some of the basic elements like sights and rest. Showing how you find and set your knocking point. Then explaining and showing paper tuning and how to make the adjustments to get a good tear. After the basics are covered you can also cover some other topics like other bow accessories, brief explination of how to pick the right spined arrows, etc. A seminar on how to make your own arrows, fletching and cresting, etc.
ParrotHead
Re: I need some ideas. To be real honest with you - the first thing I'd like to see is a sales person! I've stopped going to Bass Pro because there's never enough people to help you and if you grab one of them numbers - plan on standing in line for quite some time. But to answer your question - tuning a bow would be nice to see and a seminar on all the gadgets that work and don't work. Thanks
Orion_70
Re: I need some ideas. I would say give seminars of basically Rotating modules. For example: Module 1 - Proper bow selection and outfitting the bow with rest, sights, etc for their style of shooting Module 2- Tuning the bow, arrow selection, nocking point, etc Module 3- Shooting form and putting it all together Module 4- Advanced shooting broadheads, etc. maybe fletching your own arrows, bow adjustments, etc Add to or break those into classes that you can teach on a rotating basis for a few months. IowaDeerHunter
Re: I need some ideas. I think the bow setup would be a great idea for beginning archers. And maybe just different silenceing or dampening sysytems they can use on there bows.
Guest gfourhunter
Re: I need some ideas. in indiana we have a club named indiana bow hunters. they put on a bow hunters ed class. really helps out for the young bow hunter. hunters ed dont get into bow hunting and safty of bow hunting as mutch as bow hunters ed does. in other words a safty class first would be a good start.
