Chrud
I bought a Cuddeback Camera from Iminrut and got a couple disks for it this weekend. But, they are too big in size (physical size). They are SanDisk 256 CompactFlash Disks. It says that you need compact flash disks for it. What disks are you using? The slot for them is pretty small. Is there special compact flash cards for it? Chrud
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? I meant cards. They are too thick for the slot. I might contact them and see if I need a specific card.

Chrud
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? My brother picked up a thinner one. I'll see if that one fits in it. I was a little confused about why the slot was so small.
wtnhunt
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? Compact flash, CF cards are pretty well all the same. There are other types of media though, are you sure it uses CF cards and not SD memory?
Chrud
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? The instruction booklet said any Compact Flash Card would work, but they are too big in physical size. My brother picked up a different one to try. popgun
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? The Cuddeback I had used the "Smart Media" card. Quote fron website: "Stores images on standard Smart Media cards from 8 MB to 128 MB" My Leaf River uses the Compactflash. I think you are just using the wrong card. .....popgun
Chrud
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? How thick is the Smart Media Card? The instruction book said any standard CF Card, but those were too big in size.
popgun
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...&image1.y=4 Smart Media is only about 1/8 inch thick only about half the thickness of the Compactflash, and a little smaller. I was lucky that my Lexar multi-card reader takes all of them. .....popgun

popgun
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? I don't have a Smart Media card here to measure, but the thickness is about 3/32 ". and about 7/8" wide. I don't know what else to tell you except mine took the Smart Media. All SD cards are the same size. All SmartMedia cards are the same size. All CompactFlash cards are the same size. but they have type I and II. All xD Picture cards are the same size. All MemoryStick are the same size All MemoryStick Pro are the same size. All Multimedia cards are the same size. All MagicGate Memory Sticks are the same size. All MicroDrive cards are the same size. All .22 lr are the same diameter. All .44 mag. are the same all etc., etc. (note) Do not pay any attention to the Cuddeback website. They redesigned the Cuddeback. If you bought one used, it is the older model and takes SmartMedia. "SmartMedia, SmartMedia, SmartMedia." .....popgun
smallmunster
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? Smartmedia cards are about the thickness of an envelope.
Chrud
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? The thickness of an envelope?! That just might work! Thanks a lot popgun and SM! I'll have to take a look at one.
Chrud
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? Here is a picture of the slot. It's sort of hard to see just how small it is. A dime goes in with a bit of force, but I think it would have to be thinner than a dime to fit in. Cuddeback is getting a call this week. See if they can help me out too. popgun
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? Bingo, Chrud....SmartMedia. I don't think Wally World handles them but any computer store, camera shop, or www.tigerdirect.com for mail order. I think the SmartMedia was loosing it's popularity and that is why the newer models use the CompactFlash. That little square button helps to release the card and pushes it out some, but if you have no fingernails or fat fingers, it helps to take a pair of tweezers with you when you go out to change the card. If you need an owners manual for your older model, let me know. Make sure you put the card in correctly and do not remove it if the LCD screen says "Cam busy"or "Images", or it can erase what is on the card, or permanently damage it as you pull it out. .....popgun
smallmunster
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? I've bought Smartmedia cards at walmart in the past but have not looked lately. They have been phased out by most companies it seems. If you find the right place you can get Smartmedia cards pretty reasonable, I've got some OK deals off ebay as well. popgun
Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? I was just at Wal-Mart this morning, and our store here only has two SmartMedia cards on the rack. They are red-tagged for clearance, so I guess they are being phased out. (Correction on one of my previous replies) In case someone refers to this thread for reference someday, I stated the width of the SmartMedia card was about 7/8". Sorry, that should be approx. 1 1/8". .....popgun
