spyderpancake
Sweets 7.62 is some tough stuff, it will definitely strip any copper out your barrel, just don't let it sit too long and don't leave any in the barrel!

AJ
Re: Copper remover? Check out the Rifle Bore Cleaning thread. Any of the copper solvents are good, just follow the directions. Do not let it sit in the bore for extended periods. I like to remove it after 15 minutes. Be sure to use a protectant after removing the fouling. hangunnr
Re: Copper remover? I've been using Wipe-Out foaming bore cleaner and am very impressed how well it works. Brownells and Midway Supply both stock this stuff. hangunnr

too_pointer
Re: Copper remover? O.K. I have been using rem oil in both my rifles and shotguns, does it really matter much ? Why would the Slip be better in a shotgun ? Mike
AJ
Re: Copper remover? I do know that Slip 2000 makes cleanup easier. It reduces the fouling. I have most of my rifles dialed in with with plain jane naked bores. Adding Slip 2000 will change the performance. I could go back through them and test and possibly work up a new load for them after they have been treated with Slip 2000, but I don't hve that much time. Lately, I find myself shooting a lot more shotgun, muzzleloader (because of where I hunt), and rimfire. To re-do everything just to make cleanup for a couple hundred rounds every year, is not worth it to me. I stay on top of fouling and the cleanup is not too difficult. spyderpancake
Re: Copper remover? I have heard some bad things about using rem-oil in barrels, b/c of the teflon in it. I have heard that some companies won't honor a warranty if you use it. Any of yall heard about this? I use Break-Free CLP as a lubricator. AJ
Re: Copper remover? [ QUOTE ] I have heard that some companies won't honor a warranty if you use it. [/ QUOTE ] Not quite. It sounds like the anti-Rem group is at it again. Unless the gun company states this up front, and I don't know of any that do, its pure BS.
