I worked nights last night and I got a call from the wife that a friend of mine shot a 4x4 bull elk with his 30-06 and couldn't find it. he gave up after 5 hours looking and came home, I called my boss and told him I was leaveing and why. he understood. My friend is not a bow hunter and has no idea how to track like we do. most of the animals he shoots drop within a 100 yards or so. any way I get to his house a 7am and we head for the mountains he takes me to the spot where he shot and all that is there is a small bit of blood some meat and hair the elk made a run to some blow down and down into a canyon I headed to the canyon and found a smal spot of blood on a trail the next 7 hour were fullof gut instinct ( if I were hit were would I go) I would go a 100 yards and find one small drop of blood after 3 miles and three hills I was on bleeding hands and knees and looked ahead of me at 3 feet and saw a yellow butt. He was down and I had found him. my buddy could not believe it and to tell you the truth I couldn't eaither. But I didn't tell him that. now I am gog azz tired and I have to work tonight. paying the price for haveing fun but I wouldn't have changed anything. grin.gif

Re: Ive got skillz Baby

I didn't want any meat. I got a 6x6 last month with my featermax. it was just fun showing this old boy up. hehheh he always calls me the wounder althow I have never lost a animal. He thinks bows are not effective and all they do is wound animals. I just looked at him tonight and he said Rich you got skillz I am feeling pretty good.
