Re: Books about guns.

There are a lot of good books on the market today. Pick a gunmaker or even a lot of popular guns and there are books on them.

The old standby The Shooters Bible has been around for 80 years and has a catalog of many of the guns available, with retail prices, some articles on hunting/shooting, and has ballistics.

Julian S. Hatcher's Hatcher's Notebook is a good book. It covers a lot of good information from gun design, ammo, ballistics, and more. I definately recommend it.

Since you are a Remington fan, John Lacy's Remington 700 Book is a good read on the workd fameous Remington 700. It covers up to 1989, is hardbound, and has a lot of good data about the history of the gun.

Ken Water's Pet Loads has a lot of good data on cartridges and history. Some of the reloading data is a bit out of date, but there is still a lot of information to learn from.

Bob Forker's Ammo and Ballistics offers a lot of data for 125 different calibers of factory ammo out to 500 yards.

John Walter's Rifles of the World has a lot of information on different guns, how they work, their strengths and weaknesses, etc.

Gene Gangarosa, Jr.'s Complete Guide to Modern Rifles covers a lot of differnet modern rifles.

There are a lot of others that will get more specialized into any particular section.
