Reminising....

Or however you spell it. smirk.gif . Anyways, I was out on my atv today to retrieve a Stealth Cam that I had way out in the boonies. When I rode by the spot where I had an opputunity at that real nice wide eight pointer I had to stop. You can see the tree I was in from the trail. I just sat there for a few minutes thinking about what happened that day. How it all went down, and finally him blowing and running off. It was really cool. This is one of the many reasons why I bowhunt........The memories.....

When I finally rode off, low and behold there was a deer {doe I think} about 30 yards of the trail looking at me around the corner from where I was sitting. A positive sign I hope.

For those of you who were not here then... Click on

Re: Reminising....

Yep, Tom and I did the same thing about a month ago while looking for sheds. We just both sat there shaking our heads and laughing a little kind of embarassed chuckle. How we could both miss such easy close shots on two Pope and Youngers is still a painful mystery.

I still painfully think about that shot back in November, and I'll always remember the call Tom gave me as I attended parent teacher conferences for my kids .

Re: Reminising....

I do it everytime I go in the woods, of course for me that's fewer than I like. I'll pass a tree where I shot a squirrel or that produces them all the time, a brush pile where I kick out rabbits, stands I hunted in the past with and without luck and sometimes I just sit on the edge of a bottom looking over it and wonder if long ago another hunter didn't do the same.
