Chicago_Hunter
Anyone know how the birds are gobbling in Texas? I am headed to TX hill country on thursday and was wondering how the action has been so far this season. Thanks.

Fullfan
Re: Gobbling Activity in Texas Chicago, I don't have any info on how they are gobbling. But I do on hunting them. No matter how hot it gets stay after them. We killed two at 1pm and it was about 80 deg.I hunted in the hill country two yrs ago. They will all come back to where they were roosted. So if you don't have any luck in the am, go back to where they were roosted. Be careful on judging distance there. With most of the trees being ceader it is easy to miss-judge yardage. I took a 53yd shot I thought was an easy 40yder. good luck and have fun.
Guest Tail_Feathers
Re: Gobbling Activity in Texas You should be OK on the gobbling. Do not quit hunting in the late morning. Take a lunch break and get back out. I killed two Rios last year in the afternoon. 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. on the times. If the weather is bad, be out there when the sun does come out because they will open up when the sun shines.
