Guest Andrea
Does anyone have any idea what kind of animal makes a nest on the ground that is shaped like a tee-pee? My father and uncle found a nest in an open field that is made of broom sage and weeds that have been "weaved" so to speak into the shape of a tee-pee or wigwam. The entrance is big enough for a man's head and is about 8 to 12 inches from the bottom. If a man could fit through the entrance...he could sit up inside it. There were no tracks, no feathers, and no cracked eggshells. No one knows what could have made this. I have pictures I am trying to scan and post right now. But if anyone knows, please tell me!!!!!!! It's driving us crazy!
Gator
Re: Peculiar sighting That would be a nursery for a baby sasquatch!!!!! Actually i have no clue, where did they find it, what type of area?

Tominator
Re: Peculiar sighting You must live in the great Northwest because you found a very rare Sasquatch Tee-Pee. Seriously, I have no idea. Ovenbirds make a woven nest on the ground, but they're considerably smaller than what you described.
bulldawg
Re: Peculiar sighting I have no clue, but I do have a question. Who was the brave one that stuck his head in there not knowing what he'd find...?
Guest Andrea
Re: Peculiar sighting Well, I stepped right off into this one didn't I??????? The area is flat, open field near water. There are 4 nests on the ground. Some folks have said it might be a skunk but everything I have read says they live in the ground. The first day they saw it, then when they came back the next day...the animal must have known they were there because that nest was destroyed and a new one was built!!! Guest Andrea
Re: Peculiar sighting [ QUOTE ] I know. It is a kidus painintheassus. New [/ QUOTE ] That was my first thought. But this is not an area where there are any kids. Or people for that matter. No houses around at all for miles.
