Re: Before and After? Succes Stories?

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!!!

Before my surgery I had about 13 months of VERY little activity and NO activity after June when my doctors found what was really wrong.

When I went in for surgery I weighed #249. Now just over 5 months after both surgeries I weighed just this past Saturday at a church wellness clinic and I weighed 219. I weighed again this morning and I weigh 215. I hardly eat. I have not had an appetite since my last surgery. My portions are just a couple of bites from each of about 3 or 4 servings.

For instance. Today I (after my wife got on to me) ordered a hamburger at about 2PM this afternoon. I had not eaten a thing since about 7PM the day before (I have NO appetite). I ate about 3 bites of it and about 4 french fries and could not eat the rest. That is about how I have been the whole time since my surgeries were done. I was wanting to loose weight and we call this a blessing and aften kid the doctors for slipping a gastic bypass in while they had my stomach open...LOL..well No, it is not funny, but you have to laugh at something I guess... I told the wife I would worry after I reached my goal of #200.. But I am a bit worried.

Re: Before and After? Succes Stories?

I am pretty much the other way around. I was a in-shape, played every sport in the book highschool kid, who had a pretty strict weightlifting regime.

College however, proved to be more difficult that I thought and I spent more time studying and eating than I did, keeping my fitness. Too many nights of nacho's, cheese and calculus.

So I was always about 215, now I have gained about 35 pounds or better. Here's my challenge to myself. I'm getting married this october, so I wanna get back down to my ideal weight.

Too bad I have an office job that sits me on my keister the whole day, but I have picked up the exercise at home and will be going to a job that has a full Gym for employee use this July.

If it works, Then I'll Post the pics ! grin.gif

Re: Before and After? Succes Stories?

LOL Doing this is gonna come back to haunt me..... I know it. grin.gif

Ok so anyway..... back in November of 2003 my dad found out that he had lung cancer, so he and I made a deal that if he stopped smoking, then I'd give up pop. Well.... the deal still stands and I've dropped close to 80 pounds. I still have about 20-30 to lose, but I'm getting there!

This first pic is SO FREAKIN EMBARRASSING.... (lol) it's of me with the first deer I ever killed back in 2001 or 2002? I can't remember. I don't have a scanner, so my mom had the bright idea of taking a picture of this picture which is hanging in our family room. Redneck, eh? wink.gif I look kinda scrunched up or something... this is what you look like when your fatness just gets in the way. *shrug* LOL

This picture was taken last night after I washed my car and installed a new set of tail lights.

In my opinion the pictures aren't really a good comparison since you can't really tell how HUGE I was in the first pic. *shrug*

ok I'll stop rambling now.

Re: Before and After? Succes Stories?

If this thread is about weight loss--sorry, can't help you there. I've slowly gained since being married and having kids. Appetite is the same, but activity level is way down.

Success stories? Yeah, 4 or 5 in the last 7 or 8 years

December 1996 "Mr. Pileski, you have a tumor on your thymus gland."

February 1997 "Mr. Pileski, we got all the tumor, you won't have any more trouble with that one."

September 1999 "Mr. Pileski, you have a new tumor in your right lung."

December 1999 "Mr. Pileski, we got it all, you won't have anymore trouble with that one."

June 2003 "Chris (yeah, we're first name basis now wink.gif), "Chris, you have a nodule on your thyroid gland, this is cancer."

September 2003 "Chris, everything went well, I think I got it all, I want you to see a specialist, just in case because there was a positive margin on one of the slides."

February 2004 "Chris, we think the cancer is still there, we'd like to do a radical neck dissection."

May 2004 "Mr. Pileski, your pathology report......we found no malignancy in any of the tissue we removed."

August 2004 "Chris, your cancer was undetectable with the last blood test."

December 2004 "Chris, your cancer was undetectable with the last blood test."

May 13th, 2005.......................?

Keep praying folks. grin.gif

Tominator...it is going to be:

May 13th, 2005 "Chris, your cancer was undetectable with the last blood test!"

Hey, if they can't detect it, doesn't that mean it is no longer "your" cancer???? Lots of prayers that everything comes out great and no trace of cancer.

Huntin_Girl,

I was thinking about posting the same type of pics, but no way am I posting my HUGE belly here! I ended up with toxemia and weighed almost 200 lbs when I delivered each of my boys....but don't know if that really counts as weight loss since most of it was water retention. Still, I was VERY happy to get back to 130 lbs. It sucks looking like the michelan man! hehehe
