Finally had some great success shed hunting! In all we only ended up with foursheds, two little ones and two big ones! On march 19 My brother sister and I went to look. Started off slow, but after a few hours of walking my brother found a small 2 point side. It didn't break off at the usual spot, but it broke off with soe bone still connected to it??? Anyone know why? A few miutes late i found a small 3 point shed, with a big 4 inch brow tine. That was all for sheds but we found mnay cow bones, including 4-5 skulls, and my brother even found a hawk skull! Also found two deer skulls. Those cow bones really fool ya. We went again on March29, I think and started off slow again. After more hours, and miles of walking in the timber, we decided to follow a trail through a ten year field(like CRP). My brother yelled out deer, and almost ran over a nice shed. It was off the same deer/shed he found last year. It was 58 inches without a brow tine so we figureif would be roughly 62 inches, andgiving it a inside spread of 16 inchesit would be caround 140 (with a matching side of course) Fiveminutes later i stumbled upon a big one. pulled it out and found its g-3 and G-4 were both broken off. It has 25 inch main beams, 8 inch brows, and 11 1/2 inch G-2, I scores 62 2/8ths without its G3 and G4. Giving it a 8 inch G 3 and a 3 inch G 4 it would score 73 2/8 inches. With a matching side it would be 146 1/2 inches, and with a 18-19 inch inside spread, if you compare it to our other mounted bucks you can tell it is wider, and get a pretty good guess, it would go in the lower 160s. pretty nice I would say. grin.gif
