First turkey with a bow

This is the first turkey I have shot with my bow, second season hunting turkeys with a bow. It was a pretty cool spot and stock hunt. We (me and my bros) spotted the birds about a 1/2 mile out moving away from us on a hillside. We looped around and got in front of the flock and used a draw to get into position. No sooner had we got set up than the turkeys started coming over the hill. I know it's not a long beard but like I said it's the first one I've killed with a bow, no blind, and the birds was forty yards out when I shot. He went maybe 15 yrds before he finally gave up.

Re: First turkey with a bow

Here is a picture of one of my bros and the bird he got Sunday evening just before sunset. The birds came into the decoys strutted around the jake decoy 20 yrds out. This is his first turkey with a bow, same as me no blind. The bird went 10 feet before it piled up, it was a great shot. Can't wait to get back at it this weekend. What species of turkey do you guys think this is. We think it's an eastern or a eastern rio cross. We have never seen easterns in the area we hunt.
