MCH
Ok, guys, who would like to enter a forum fantasy baseball contest. Here's the rules: 1. I'll pick one day of the week when there are a lot of ballgames scheduled. 2. Each participant will select one offensive player. 3. The participant will get credit for that player's offensive production. Example: Adam Dunn goes 4 for 5 with 1 home run, 3 RBI's, and 2 Runs Scored. 4. Each week, the current player's stats will be added to the prior weeks. 5. I will keep a running total for Batting Average, Home Runs, RBI's, and Runs Scored. 6. At the end of the regular season, the top five in each category will get points. Example: 5 for first, 4 for second, etc. 7. A regular season champion will be crowned and will receive a small prize. I think I also may let the top five scorer's go for a World Series. Who would like to enter? I think it would be fun. You could miss a week and still be in contention with all the 0-fer's we'll have. I'll end the sign ups on Sunday and I'll post the day of the week on Monday. You will need to get your picks in the day before the games. buckbuster11
Re: Fantasy Baseball sign-up(not as complicated) I'm in!! One question...are we going to be able to pick the same people, or does everyone have to pick a different person? Just wondering because you could have a lot of people picking the same person every week.
MCH
Re: Fantasy Baseball sign-up(not as complicated) BB11 is going for the Triple Crown..... It doesn't matter if two people pick the same person. They just can't pick the guy two weeks in a row. A guy like Barry Bonds might help you out, but he walks a lot, which will help his batting average out since its not an official at bat. But look at Brad Wilkerson, a decent player on a low-level team. He hits for the cycle in one game and then goes 4 for 5 the next day. This contest has the potential to be almost chess like. If towards the middle of the season and a contestant is in the top 5 of home runs and RBI's mainly because he's picked a lot of sluggers, he may decide to start choosing a few lead-off/high average guys in order to move up the list in Runs and Average. Also, I will have the point system figured out by Sunday. I do know that only the person in last place in a category will get "0" points. The rest will be decided on how many entries I get. Also, I plan on entering the contest for fun. I'll make a post two or three days prior for everyone to post their selected player. That way everyone can keep up with everyone else. MCH
Re: Fantasy Baseball sign-up(not as complicated) Just offensive players. You can pick a national league pitcher if you're "Brave" enough... Ryan...we'll try to set it up like Michigan had it. We'll use posts up until near the end of the contest. And if we go to the Playoffs, we'll use PM's on those also.

MCH
Re: Fantasy Baseball sign-up(not as complicated) Guys, I figure the easiest way to keep up with the score is to make a webpage that everyone can visit. Might talk one of the moderators into pinning and locking a post with just this URL. It's a free site so you'll have to close the little advertising on the right. MCH
Re: Fantasy Baseball sign-up(not as complicated) We have 13 entries. The scoring will be: First place-24 points, Second Place-22 points, Third Place-20 points, Fourth Place-18 points, and so on. Last place in each category will receive no points. Also, injuries and days off happen. No complaining if a player is held out of a game. You can change your selection only if the player is injured before the cutoff date ONLY. If your player is injured at noon Tuesday and you post and PM me before midnight Tuesday, your new selection will be accepted. Repeat. You must post your changes for the other contestants AND PM me.
