AJ--sherpa duty for me !!

AJ-----My wife wanted that NM elk hunt. I put her in for Unit 23 & she will use her 30/06. From what I have gathered Unit 16 has better bulls but it was a muzzleloader hunt. she feels more comfortable with the 30/06 Parker-Hale & the 6x Leupold. She has never killed a bull----several cows but never a bull. I'll taken a 300 class bull in my local honey hole---I'm content with it. The outfitter says she'll have about an 80% chance of drawing the tag.

So, I guess I'll play sherpa !!!! Last time I did this---I had to pack out her 3/4 curl bighorn !!

LOL! How does the saying go "The only thing worse than packing out your elk is packing out someone elses elk". I hope she gets a monster, not to make you suffer, but for her. So you get to be gun bearer and pack mule. I guess it is a small price to pay to have her involved. I with mine took more intrest. Oh well.

I say moose would be worse...never hunted one but Im told they are tough to carry even in quarters...
