Chrud
Thanks to clown Gary, I got myself a target bow. It's not perfection (would be in target colors if it were), but it'll make one fantastic bow for a beginning, getting more serious, 3D/Target archer. It's a Mathews Q2XL. I'm not sure on the year, would say it's a 2003 at the very oldest. It has the "Built By" stickers which started appearing in late 2004, and it was special for my brother's benefit, so it could be a 2004, even though it was discontinued after 2003. It has 70 pound limbs and I ordered a 28" cam for it. No one has shot this bow yet, but I really like how it draws and the rock solid wall. It has great ATA length at 38" and a real forgiving brace height at 7 1/2" and still kicking out 308 FPS IBO. Since I just ordered my Switchback too, that is my main priority. I'm going to outfit the Q2XL as I can. If I can put a little money away now and then to buy something new for it, that is what I'll do. I'm not in any leagues now, so it's not a must to get setup immedately. Something I considered was dropping to 50-60 pound limbs. But, I'm going to shoot it at 70 pounds for a while and see how that goes. If I find 60 or 62 to be a lot better, then I may consider different limbs. Now the fun part! I'm kind of getting a mental list of what I'd like to get for it. I'll probably get an Extreme Sniper Recon for it also, that is what I'm putting on my SB. I'm planning on a Schaffer MAT-1 for my SB also. If I really like it, I may see if I can special order one in X-tra Grey or black for the Q2XL. Probably going to check out one of Vibracheck's target stabilizers. One item I'm really looking forward to is a back tension type release. I've been playing with my Two Shot in the back tension form and I like it. I'm looking into maybe the Carter Chocolate Addiction down the road. Well, looking forward to get my bow back. Hopefully it'll be a stepping stone for me to hopefully get real serious about competitive archery someday. I sure think I have the ability for it, just need to get out there and do it.
