James7xChamp3 Posted April 9, 2005 Report Share Posted April 9, 2005 I'm lucky enough to live close by to Thompson Center and their affiliate store Fox Ridge Outfitters in Rochester, NH. My girlfriend likes the store as much as me and we were in there a week or two ago and I got talking with a guy who works there about putting a scope and a limbsaver recoil pad on my T/C Encore turkey gun. I was actually wanting to get it this weekend. Well, my girlfriend ended up getting it for me. She came home from work today with my Encore and the scope and recoil pad was installed and she also got me a recoil pad for my 835! She bought me the gun for my birthday 2 years ago, and I was able to bag a nice bird with it. No permit last year, so hopefully I can come through again this year. It will sure be fun trying! Love you honey! Now, talk about great customer service. When they went to install the recoil pad, the bolts weren't aligning properly so he gave us a new camo butt stock plus my old one back for no extra cost! Thanks T/C! Here's a pic. I tried the gun yesterday with some ammo I had. The remington Nitro #5-1 7/8 oz. shot the best. I got 18-20 pellets in the spine and head at 35 yds and 10-12 at 40. I have some #6's ordered, along with some other brands to try but I am plenty happy with that. Did not like the #4's . Looking forward to trying some others though.
